What would you do if you weren't afraid? Really. This question has been popping up all around me this week as I hear the stories of friends and as I consider my own life possibilities.

A common theme is that many of us often feel fear around taking action--fear of failure or fear of success. The difference between those who achieve and those who don't is that those who achieve feel the fear and move forward anyway. If we wait until the fear subsides, we stay stuck in inertia. Those who achieve simply take a risk.

So what would it look like to take a risk and do what you most fear anyway?

Manifest Miracles in Your Life and Create Yourself

Recently, an especially challenging moment had me lamenting in my mind, resentment over a lack I was experiencing. I immediately changed the negative self-talk tape playing over and over in my head to a favorite Shakti Gawain affirmation, visualizing a positive outcome: "This or something better is now manifesting in my life in totally harmonious and satisfying ways for the greatest good of all concerned." Two hours later, I found myself in a store, purchasing the item I needed--and it was on sale!

How often does it happen that we think about someone and they call? Coincidence or manifestation? The mind is a powerful vehicle! When we allow the chatter to rule, it is our mind controlling us. Yet, we can make this self-talk work to our advantage. Miracles unfold when we take control of our mind and tell it what to tell us.

How might we do this? The words we use reflect an inner subconscious perception. And we often behave according to our perceptions. So if our perceptions are inaccurate and negative, they have the potential to create a negative outcome. Our perceptions and beliefs, as relayed through the messages we tell ourselves, can create a self-fulfilling prophecy, something that comes true because we believe it. Therefore, we must take care what we tell ourselves.

Think of it this way: a little child is told that they are stupid, and they grow up believing they are. This affects how they see themselves (negatively) and potentially how they interact with the world (unsuccessfully). We know that saying such messages to a young child is damaging and do not intentionally set out to do this, yet we may continually do this to ourselves, from the moment we awaken to the time we fall asleep--play negative mental self-talk tapes in our mind.

By harnessing the power of the mind, we create our perceptions and thus our realities. Feed your mind good food for thought, the same way you fuel your body with healthful foods that help it feel good and move better. This is one important way in which we can create miracles in our lives and ultimately create ourselves.

What positive messages do you tell yourself to manifest miracles in your life?

Are you parked?

Last summer when I pulled into a church parking lot in New Hampshire to turn the car around, I found myself in front of this sign. I love it!

This has me thinking about where I might be parked in my life at any given time...not moving backward, nor moving forward. Still. Sometimes stillness is good. It gives me the space to contemplate that move forward. Sometimes the stillness feels like being frozen in my tracks: parked. And sometimes being parked feels like forever as I wait to move on. Maybe it's not time to move. Or maybe I see this sign and know in my soul that thou shalt not park here.

Where are you parked in your life?
